Zeller (Joseph) 16 x16 x 7.7x57R drilling. Serial 8531 (3x: barrels, receiver, forend) has 26.75-inch barrels. The shotgun barrels are choked M/F, chambered for 2.5-inch shells and have ejectors. The rifle barrel has a sling loop (.800-inch inside width) and an extractor. Features include a filed rib (tapering, blade front rifle sight, mechanical rear sight blade with filed face), scalloped boxlock action with clips, cocking indicators (three), extended tangs and a horn guard. STOCK: Appointments include fine wrap checkering with partially-Mullered borders, ebony forend accent sliver, scalloped cheek rest with shadow line and beveled shoulder, steel grip cap, toeline sling loop and a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad. No box, papers or additional accessories are present. ENGRAVING: The action is dressed with three well-executed game scenes surrounded with a leafy vine pattern to full coverage. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 7.2 pounds and the length-of-pull is 14.45 inches. CONDITION: Barrels are full on face. Mechanics operate properly. Shotgun bores are bright. Rifle bore is strong and bright with minor frosting just forward of the chambers. Barrel finish has thinned and browned to approximately 60 percent. Action finish shows little wear. Likely refreshed, wood is approximately 80 percent with sharp checkering and a tiny hairline at the tip of the upper tang. Horn guard is solid.
