Rigby (London) .22 Savage sidelock double rifle. Serial 17880 (6x matching: barrels, action, tang, forend latch/rail/wood) has 24-inch barrels (blade front sight with matted base, quarter rib with fixed express blade and quick-release mount, ejectors). Features include a tang safety with button lock and a color case action. STOCK: Coaxed from a walnut blank set with dense figure, formalities include fine wrap checkering with partially-Mullered borders, drop points, horn grip cap and butt plate (checkered, widow's peak) and a toe line sling button. ENGRAVING: The action, latch, tangs, guard, button and screws are dressed with fine scroll to full coverage. OPTIC: A Leupold Vari-X II 2-7x (gloss finish, Duplex reticle) is secured in the custom mount. Optics are clear with good lens coatings. DIMENSIONS: Weight (with optic) is 8.4 pounds and the length-of-pull is 14.5 inches. CONDITION: The bores show uniform frosting with mild-to-moderate roughness. Barrels are a trace off face. Mechanics operate properly. As restored, barrel blue is at least 85 percent. Colors are approximately 30 percent. Wood crowds 90 percent. CASE: What appears to be the original case includes two serialed front sight blades, extra strikers (marked “R” and “L”) and a leather scope carrier. The case itself is in poor condition owning to improper storage. AMMUNITION: Approximately 174 rounds of pointed soft point ammunition (98 rounds Imperial, 36 rounds Dominion and 40 rounds Remington) are included.
