This is one of the most desirable configurations Winchester ever produced in the legendary Model 12 line — a true factory 28 Gauge Model 12 Skeet Gun with a solid, filed rib, manufactured in 1953 and preserved in exceptional original condition. Serious Winchester collectors already know: the 28-gauge, solid rib, 26-inch skeet guns sit at the absolute top of the Model 12 hierarchy.
This example features the correct and highly sought-after 2 7/8" chambers, a 26-inch barrel, and a factory-marked SKEET choke, exactly as Winchester produced for competitive shooters of the era. The rib is Winchester’s proper solid flat matted rib, not the later Simmons conversions often seen on the market. The rib, barrel markings, and contour all align with a genuine factory configuration.
The walnut stock and forearm retain the classic Model 12 profile with a clean pistol grip and original Winchester grip cap. Dimensions are ideal for both collectors and shooters:
