Offered here is a beautiful and increasingly scarce Browning Superposed Grade I in 28 gauge, one of the most desirable configurations produced during the Belgian era. Small-bore Superposeds—especially true 28 gauges—were made in far fewer numbers than their 12- and 20-gauge counterparts, and examples in this condition continue to climb in collector demand.
This shotgun features 28” vent-rib barrels chambered for 2¾" shells, with factory fixed chokes marked Modified and Full. The receiver retains sharp, clean original Grade I engraving, and the bluing remains strong throughout. The stock set shows excellent figure, deep gloss finish, and Browning’s long-tang, square-knob configuration. Checkering is crisp and clean.
The gun balances beautifully at 6 lbs. 8 oz., making it an ideal lightweight upland companion. It includes a white mid-rib bead and white front bead. Stock dimensions: 14 1/8” LOP, 1½” DAC, 1?” DAH, neutral cast. A Pachmayr Old English recoil pad is installed.
Mechanically excellent—tight lockup and smooth operation. Clean 28-gauge Superposeds remain extremely hard to source, and the market continues to rise sharply.
