Description:
This is a full box, 50 original rounds, of .30 Cup Fire ammunition manufactured by the Phoenix Metallic Cartridge Company in South Coventry, Connecticut. Built for the Eagle Arms Company which produced a front loading pocket revolver sold under Plant Mfg. The unique cartridges were designed to circumvent the Rollin White patent and offered a unique alternative. The box reads: " FIFTY NO. 30 / PATENT WATER PROOF / EAGLE CARTRIDGES" with patent dates of July 12, 1859 and July 21 1868. The black two piece box shows repairs to the bottom and top sections with a missing side on the latter. The side that is missing is on the bottom and the box is solid and displays well on shelf. Cartridges have the recessed "P" head stamp and are native to the box and in near excellent condition with some verdigris and bullet lube oxidation. The black label with gold type remains in excellent, crisp condition and will look fantastic on display. A rarely seen full box to pair with your antique revolver.
