HIGH CONDITION CLASSIC MODEL '94, .30WCF SADDLE RING CARBINE, #990XXX, MADE 1926. One of the last saddle ring carbines before the ring was deleted. ‘94s made during this time rarely have much, if any, blue on the receiver as the case hardening process of the time did not take the blue finish well and brown/flaking began quickly. This example shows most of the receiver blue with only some minor brown beginning (After brown, the blue typically flaked to silver/gray). Exc. bright blue on the bolt, upper tang and most of the lever. Aside from the upper/lower ends, the butt plate shows good blue. Barrel and magazine retain nearly all the exc. blue with all sharp corrrect late markings and correct carbine ladder rear sight with slide intact. Excellent+ walnut stock and forend show barely any handling marks. Tight action, strong safety half-cock and minty bright bore. A really attractive and excellent late model ‘94 saddle ring carbine now nearly 100 years old.
