Synopsis:

The Model 1900 represents the first production model Parabellum pistol, this example made by DWM with a Swiss sunburst chamber, was one of the earliest, in high original condition, with unaltered features, desirable BUG proofs, and correct flat button magazine. Much, much scarcer than the usually encountered military version, a real find for the advanced or historically focused collector!

Description:

Exceedingly scarce DWM Model 1900 Swiss Commercial Luger pistol, cal 7.65 Para (.30 Luger), SN 916, in high original condition and original configuration with non-relieved frame. Unlike the vast majority of these Lugers that were earmarked for the Swiss military, this is a Commercial model with "BUG" proofs under the barrel and on the left side of the breechblock and front toggle link. It is otherwise a classic 1900 toggle action mechanism with Swiss sunburst on chamber, 4.75" bbl, drift adjustable front sight and V-notch rear sight. SN "916" on frame with matching parts numbered "16" on all the usual parts to include the trigger, front toggle link, rear toggle link, grip safety, and each of the grips. Complete with tin-plated magazine with early flat checkered button and wooden plug with disc inserts.

Condition:

Bright 98% bright original rust blue with minimal sharp edge wear in the usual locations to include the muzzle, tips of the rails, and hump of the sideplate. Comparable condition strawed parts. Grips with sharp checkering and light oil staining. Excellent plus magazine with the plug pin showing no disturbance. Mirror bright bore. Correct manual mechanics. A wonderful early 1900 Swiss Commercial Luger made by DWM with all of the earliest features, much, much scarcer than the usual military model familiar to most collectors.
