About Us: I am a research scientist specializing in the design of advanced optical gun sights. I have 20+ years of hunting experience in Canada, USA, Spain and Sweden. This is a very rare Mauser 66 rifle in the potent 9.3X64mm caliber. In Craig Boddington's words 9.3x64 Brenneke is "a European cartridge every bit the equal of the .375 H&H". In my own opinion, this caliber is ballistically superior to the.375 Holland and Holland due to using less propelant and having a more modern, efficient case design. It also shines at long-rang thanks the avilability of modern high-ballisttic-coefficient monolithic bullets (e.g. 250 grain Lapua Naturalis or Nosler E-Tip) and advanced high-energy powders (e.g. N540).
I have purchased this beautiful rifle in Europe and have imported it in the United States privately. It is in like new condition with less than 25 rounds fired through it for testing and load developement. Accuracy of this rifle is exceptional: I have been able to shoot touching 3-shot groups at 100 yards using N540 powder and 250gr Hornady GMX bullets!
This rifle is very solidely built and has a medium-heavy barrel (length: 65 cm). The barrel is exchangable and you can change the barrell or add new barrels/caibers without tools. Year of manufacture is ~1970 but the rifle appraed as new when I receied it. There are no visible marks or dents anyware on the stock or barrel.
This rifle sports a very reliable Zeiss Diatal-D 6x42 rifle scope in factory-installed German claw mounts. The rifle scope has a German No. 1 reticle and remains zero, shooting about 3" high at 100 yards with windage being perfect.
This is a magnificant rifle in a universal caliber, you can hunt New Mexico elk with it (as did Chub Eastman in 2002 with his friend Col. Boddington) or take it to Africa and use it to hunt all spiecies of plains game and big game.
