Purdey “E Quality” side lever .300 Rook. Serial 12508 (3x: barrel, tang, splinter) has a 28-inch tapering octagon barrel (.690-inch at the muzzle flats, silver-beaded blade front sight, filed top flat, rear sight assembly with fixed and folding leafs marked 50/100, ejector). Features include scroll engraving, horn forend tip, wrap checkering, extended lower tang, steel butt plate with widow's peak, steel grip cap and well-figured walnut. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 5.8 pounds and the length-of-pull is 14.2 inches. CONDITION: The bore is quite strong with occasional areas of minor roughness (most near the throat). Barrel is on face. Mechanics are solid. Engraving and markings are sharp. Barrel finish is approximately 40 percent and browned. Action shows only a hint of colors. Wood is solid and approximately 60 percent. AMMUNITION: Two bricks (400 rounds total) of Kynoch with 80-grain hollow points are included. The price is firm and layaway is available. $6,500 plus shipping.
