Guns Listing ID: 596154

The Baby Browning is a classic, ultra-compact semi-automatic pocket pistol introduced in the 1930s by Fabrique Nationale (FN) in Belgium. It is widely recognized as one of the smallest mass-produced pistols of the 20th century.
Background & History
Designed as a successor to the earlier FN Model 1906 (“Vest Pocket"), also created by John Browning.
Produced by FN Herstal beginning in the early 1930s.
Known for its extremely small size, smooth contours, and surprising refinement for such a tiny pistol.
Various licensed and unlicensed copies were produced worldwide for decades.
For many years it was a popular “pocket" or “backup" pistol due to its tiny form factor.
Very small, very lightweight — one of the smallest centerfire pistols ever mass-produced.
Single-action, striker-fired design (general description only).
Simple blowback mechanism, like many early pocket pistols.
Chambered in .25 ACP (6.35mm Browning) — a low-recoil, compact cartridge used in vest-pocket guns.
Typically equipped with minimalist, fixed sights and smooth, rounded edges for snag-free carry.
Known for being well-machined and surprisingly refined for its size.
Extremely discreet size — historically used as a deep-concealment or backup gun.
Very mild recoil, due to the small cartridge.
Considered a collector’s item today, especially pre-WWII Belgian-made examples.
Appreciated for its machining quality and iconic “micro-pistol" status.
Original FN production stopped decades ago, but later licensed versions were built by companies such as PSA (Precision Small Arms) in the U.S.
The design remains an iconic example of early 20th-century concealed-carry engineering.
