Payment Types Accepted: Bank to bank wire transfer (preferred), or bank cashier's check only Description: Transition era Winchester Model 70 Super Grade in scarce 22 Hornet caliber. S/N 64097 with matching bolt made in 1946. This is a high condition and quite rare rifle, in terms of both in caliber and configuration. Made shortly after WWII during the transitional period of evolving features between pre and post war guns, this rifle retains some of the earlier components such as the pre war clover leaf tang. It also wears the unique "rabbit's foot" or "clam shell" safety lever used for a relatively short period between about 1946-48. The overall condition is excellent, nearing 98% original blue and varnish with a few scattered light blemishes. All of the special Super Grade features are present and correct, including the often vacant and extremely expensive Redfield front sight and the proper robust detachable swivels. The bore is excellent and I have carefully examined the chamber, which is guaranteed to be a true 22 Hornet that has never been reamed to the value killing "K hornet" or any other. All mechanical functions are smooth, crisp and proper. A really great and difficult to find rifle for your collection. Expedited and fully insured shipping from Alaska in a custom cut foam lined box is an additional $100. SAFETY NOTICE: Buyer is solely responsible for determining that a used gun is safe to shoot.
