Special focus on custom contemporary muzzleloading rifles and black powder cartridge rifles. Description: This is a rare, collector grade, example of a Swedish Model 1867 Rolling Block conversion of a Model 1864 Hagstrom needlefire conversion breechloading rifle, originally converted from a Model 1860 Wrede muzzleloading rifled musket. The receiver, still in rimfire, which is rare, has the early type locking screws on the left and is dated "1869" on the right, with the same date also stamped in the forend and buttstock. Matching serial number "1678" visible on the barrel, receiver, forend and buttstock. Includes a reproduction brown leather sling. Finding any of the family of Swedish M67 rolling blocks still in rimfire is rare, as most were converted to centerfire for civilian use. Quantity wise, this M60-64-68 is one of the rarer models, with a Crown over C stamp indicating that the work was done by Carl Gustaf. Most of the "transformed" rifles were assembled at either Stockholm (S) or Carlsborg (CB). George Layman, author of "Remington Rolling Block Military Rifles of the World" had never seen a Carl Gustaf model at the time of the book's publication in 2010. The action is tight and crisp. The bore and stocks very good plus. An excellent addition to any collection of military rolling block rifles. $1000 + Shipping. For reference, an example converted to centerfire recently sold on Rock Island s for north of $1900. Price: $1,000.00 |
