Description:
From a Midwest sale, a Winchester model 53 takedown lever action rifle 25-20 WCF caliber. Very smooth action with a strong hammer spring and good extractor. 22" round barrel with a good bore. The action, trigger, lever and hammer function as they should and are very crisp. The receiver is a mottled grey patina and the barrel of the rifle retains nearly all the original blue (see photos). The barrel has a nice bore and has an adjustable vee notch rear sight and a fixed blade front sight. The stock and forend are solid with no cracks or chips; however, there are dents and dings on the wood from the last nearly 100 years (at the sale they said this rifle was made in 1929). The stock is fitted with a steel, butt plate. Everything functions as it should and shows normal wear. The rifle appears to have been maintained and is in excellent condition for a working rifle this old (see photos). I'm offering this rifle with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
