Description:
Serial #20358, .45-70 Gov’t., 34" heavy barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome rifle that has a "K.R. BRESIEN / WARSAW N.Y." marked barrel retaining virtually all of the original blue finish. The original Sharps-made receiver, breechblock, lever, trigger, and safety likewise retain a commensurate amount of reapplied blue that has just a few negligible surface scratches on a handful of areas. A modern spirit level globe front sight is installed, but there is no rear sight present, although a mount for a Vernier tang sight is present at the wrist. The checkered walnut forend and pistol-grip buttstock are in excellent condition with almost no handling marks and beautifully figured wood throughout. The tip of the forend has never had a nosecap fitted, but has been prepared to accept one. The action is tight and functions smoothly, and the rifle weighs 12 lbs, 13 oz. This is a great looking custom Sharps-Borchardt target rifle that needs a small amount of work to be complete, and is in excellent condition overall. Antique;
