Description:
Serial #16 (The original Winchester serial number is no longer visible), .218 Bee, 26 3/4" heavy barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a very handsome rifle that started out as a deluxe with XXX Wood as per the Lt Lower tang marking. It has completely and professionally upgraded and retains virtually all of the original blue finish along the barrel, breechblock, and hammer, as well as a commensurate amount of vibrant color case-hardening on the receiver, lever, and crescent buttplate. The checkered walnut forend and pistol-grip buttstock are likewise in little-used condition with almost no handling marks or flattening of the points throughout. No sights are installed, but scope blocks are fitted to the barrel, and a removable leather comb extension is fitted to the buttstock. This is a fabulous single-shot rifle, built on a scarce Winchester Low-Wall action, and chambered in a splendid cartridge. C&R;
