Description:
Serial #100582, 12 Gauge, 28 inch Damascus barrels, Oxford 2 S.J. style pattern (as identified in Charles G. Semmer's book Remington Double Shotguns), with very fine, lightly frosted bores choked about improved cylinder and modified. This is a first year production, "A" grade Remington Model 1894, one of only 660 produced in 1894. The barrels are in very fine condition showing beautiful Damascus patterns, free of dents showing much of the original brown with wear breech and some tool marks at the muzzle. The frame is well marked "REMINGTON ARMS CO" and is mostly pewter-gray with hints of the original case-colors. The walnut checkered stock and forearm are both solid with a quite common old screw repair on the left side just near the frame with scattered use marks and mild contusions. It has the original hard rubber Remington butt plate with an old repair near the top screw. The barrels are on face with a tight lock up having the lever resting just right of center. The LOP is 14" with drops of 1 3/4" and 3" at the comb and heel. A high condition First Year Production model 1894 that would be a pleasure to shoot with proper low pressure loads. Antique;
