Description:
Another piece of U.S. steel from a retired old dog, another piece from the family vault that has got to go for someone else to own and enjoy. A long story short, this Colt government model was manufactured in 1926 and somewhere along the line it made its way to San Francisco's Mission district and mr Bob Chows workbench back in 1977, many hairs ago! This pistol was a personal sidearm for many, many years, hence the holster wear, a trusty sidearm it was. Needless to say, theres a lot of history behind this pistol and if it could speak it would tell us stories. As i have mentioned before, we do not believe in re-bluing firearms and taking away the guns individual character, scratches, fades and all. Chow proofmarks are located under the slide. From left, the Chow stamp, 8/20/77 accuracy workdate and the #374 which is the last numbers of the pistols serial numbers. This pistol has got character, history and mr Chows work all over it. Its solid and the bushings are tight to this day, after all these years, an example of superb workmanship done by one of the greats! And lastly, the family member that carried this weapon is no longer here and so I will try to answer questions to the best of my know. Please be patient, im old and im on slow mode.
