"Serial Number 1428315. Made in February 1943 with a March 1943 dated 24-inch Springfield barrel that has a bright bore with strong visible rifling. This appears to be an original barrel/receiver match. Rifle is equipped with the Type 2 lockbar rear sight assembly, a milled trigger guard, an un-cut Springfield Armory operating rod & a poppet valve gas cylinder lock screw. Original factory phosphate finish is present across the metallic parts but some variation in shades can be observed. The original World War II production buttstock is marked with an Earl McFarland acceptance cartouche next to a crossed canons ordnance escutcheon. Condition of the wood is excellent with only some minor handling wear noted. The front & rear handguards are matching in color & condition. Comes with an M1907 leather sling.
