Made in London circa 1850, serials 1410 and 1411 have 6.5-inch Damascus barrels (smoothbore, ..895-inch muzzle diameter, .695-inch bore diameter, bead). Features include hammer safeties, brown/color case/polished blue/niter finishes and trapdoor grip caps. Individual weight is 2.8 pounds. ENGRAVING: Tangs, sides and trap are dressed with delicate scroll. Hammers take the form of trumpeting elephant. Engraving and markings are tack sharp. Initial plates are blank. CONDITION: Bores are smooth and bright with some areas of light superficial browning. Barrel brown is approximately 90 percent. Colors are approximately 60 percent with some tarnish on the sides, hammers and cap. Blue is approximately 70 percent. Niter is approximately 50 percent. Wood may have added finish and shows at approximately 85 percent. CASE: The case with maker's label, tools and bullet mold is in good condition.
