Description:
We have a very very nice Savage 29B this little rifle is in excellent condition and functions and fires flawlessly. There are a few handling marks here and there on the stock but easily this is a 98% + rifle the action is smooth and the rifle has been inspected for any functional issues and it passes with flying colors. The barrel is 24” shown in the pictures and the date of MFG is in the late 50’s or 60’s since there is no serial number for specific dating.
The back story: The Savage 29B is a slide-action rifle that was designed by Arthur Savage and submitted to the Army's 1892 trials but was rejected. This rifle features a unique two-piece pivoting breechblock, a rotary-spool magazine, and a one-piece breech mechanism. The Savage Model 29 rifle was manufactured from 1929 to 1967 and was well-regarded for its construction, with pre-World War II models featuring octagonal barrels and checkered pistol grips, while post-war models had round barrels and plain grips.
