This is an exceptional example of a highly desirable East German Makarov, manufactured in 1964 at the famed Ernst Thälmann Factory in Suhl, widely regarded as producing the finest Makarov pistols ever made. Serial-matched across major components and preserved in excellent condition, this pistol embodies the hallmark precision, superior finish quality, and refined mechanical feel that set East German Makarovs apart from all other PM variants.
The deep bluing, clean machining, and remarkably smooth DA/SA trigger system reflect the meticulous standards of East German state arms production. These pistols were issued in limited quantities to military and Volkspolizei units, and their short production window makes surviving examples increasingly scarce. Condition is excellent overall, with minimal handling evidence, a clean and bright bore, and tight mechanical lockup consistent with a carefully maintained service sidearm.
