Beautiful, factory nickeled, Remington Vest Pocket Pistol, manufactured between 1865 and 1888 with approximately 17,000 produced, cal. .22 RF, SN: 81462, with 3.25-inch barrel, spur trigger, and compact frame construction. Fixed post front sight with rear sight notch. Top strap marked "REMINGTONS ILION NY" along with "PATENT OCT. 1. 1861." Serial number "81462" under barrel. The fire blued hammer, trigger and screws are complemented by smooth walnut grips secured by a single screw. Also known as the "Saw Handle Derringer" due to its distinctive grip profile, this single-shot pistol was invented by William H. Elliot and is one of the most recognizable American pocket pistols of the late 19th century.

Condition:

Outstanding 97-98% bright original nickel finish with light scattered handling marks but only minimal wear. Comparable condition fire blue, slightly toned, on trigger, hammer, and screws.
