Norinco MAK-90 Overview
The MAK-90 (“Modified AK, 1990") is a Chinese-made, semi-automatic AK-pattern rifle imported primarily in the early–mid 1990s. It was brought into the U.S. by Norinco and PolyTech after the 1989 import restrictions on certain semiautomatic rifles. To meet those rules, MAK-90 rifles were configured as “sporterized"—typically featuring a thumbhole stock, no bayonet lug, and other cosmetic changes.
