Description:
This Smith & Wesson M1917 is a five screw pistol chambered in .45 ACP and designed to use moon clips. The left side of the 5.5" barrel is marked "S.&W. D.A. 45". The bottom of the barrel is marked with the serial number "88413". The left side at the rear trigger guard bow has the eagle's head proof with "S7". The crane and yoke are marked "56033" with an eagle head and "S29?" on the crane. The rear face of the cylinder is stamped with the serial number "88413" with an eagle's head proof. The left side of the frame, under the rear sight is marked with a flaming bomb inspector's proof. The butt of the grip frame is marked "US ARMY MODEL 1917 No. 88413". The front sight is a fixed half-round blade with a fixed square notch rear sight. The grips are two-piece smooth walnut panels. .45 ACP
