Description:
Arisaka Type 99, chambered in 7.7 Jap. Features include: Mauser inspired bolt action, 26 in. barrel length, 5 shot internal box magazine, one-piece bolt construction, controlled feed Mauser style extractor, adj. rear peep style ladder sight, fixed shrouded front blade sight, full length wooden stock, full length upper handguard, bottom mounted sling swivels, metal buttplate, finger grooves on forearm, knurled knob style safety located on the rear of the bolt body, straight bolt handle, action operated sliding dust cover, lever-style bolt release with integral ejector, folding monopod attached to rear barrel band, blued finish. This type 99 is a late 6th series that was manufactured by the Nagoya arsenal. Note in the intact chrysanthemum. Bluing has mostly gone to a brown patina. Stock has some decent wear, mostly on the underside at the rear. Butt plate has a decent amount of corrosion present. Bore is shiny and clean with good grooves. 7.7 Japanese
