Description:
Here we present a very nice A. Uberti / Navy Arms Model 1885 High Wall Falling Block single-shot rifle chambered in .45-70.  This rifle sports a 30" octagon barrel with an excellent bore, case colored receiver and lever, and a Marble Arms adjustable rear peep sight with a dovetail blade front sight.  The rifle is in overall very good condition with a few light handling marks and a couple light scratches in the forend.  Rifle weighs in at 9lb.

The 1885 High Wall Rifle was designed by legendary firearms producer John Moses Browning and the Winchester Repeating Rifle Company.  The rifle was originally designed for long-range competitive match shooting, which was rapidly growing in popularity in the United States.  The 1885 High Wall Rifle was entered into one of these shooting matches in Creedmoor New York, where it performed exceptionally well.  Its success was largely due to its falling block action which was one of the strongest and most reliable actions available at the time, so much so that it was actually used to test fire experimental high-powered rifle cartridges.  Uberti’s 1885 High Wall Rifle is an authentic reproduction of the original down to the last detail.
