Rarely fired Navy Arms ( Uberti?) 36 Cal. Replica of a Confederate ( Griswold & Gunnison ) copy of the Colt 1851, with a Wooden Presentation Case Blue, velvet interior, a powder flask, capper, bullet mold, percussion box tin, nipple wrench and two keys.
This gun was kept mostly as a Civil War collector gun.
According to an Italian Replica gun manufacture chart, the XXII embosed on the side of the gun matches with 1966 as the date the gun was manufactured.
Steel was a rare commodity in the South, the original Griswold & Gunnison revolver was fabricated with a brass frame and wrought iron barrel. The barrels were made from iron rods twisted to strengthen them.
The Griswold & Gunnison Revolver is one of maybe only 2 authentic brass frame revolvers manufactured during the Civil War routinely 36 Cal.featuring a round barrel and Iconic brass Frame.
