Description:
The Forehand & Wadsworth Bull Dog is a classic pocket spur trigger revolver known for its compact size and reliability. This particular model, produced in 1880, is a 5-shot revolver chambered in .38 RF. It is characterized by its good condition, featuring a 2 ½" barrel with a very nice bore and strong rifling.
Features and Condition:
The revolver surface has toned to a brown patina with remnants of original blue. Some minor pin-prick spot pitting on the front of the receiver. The brown checkered hard rubber grips rate excellent . The barrel address has faded with the top strap markings remaining very crisp . Mechanically works very well. Strong hammer spring and good timing with some cylinder play at lock-up . Cylinder does tend to rotate freely forward but not backward when in lock-up.
Overall, this Bull Dog revolver is a very good example of a rare and historically significant firearm from the late 19th century . Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of history.
