Description:
Outstanding high-condition pair of percussion target pistols. Unmarked as to maker, highlight features include 9.5-inch octagon barrels (.865-inch across the flats, 14 lands/grooves measuring .495 and .505-inch, narrow blade front sight, notch rear sight), contoured sideplates/guards and carved stocks. Metal finishes are brown with the balance silver or coin. ENGRAVING: Each showcases a game scene (hunting dog and bird) supported by light scroll, the pattern continuing over the hammers, guards, tangs and cap. Stocks are shaped from fine walnut and deeply carved. Individual weight is 2.2 pounds. MARKINGS: Each has a proof on barrel left with number “1129” appearing under the wood. CONDITION: Bores are strong and bright with but occasional hints of superficial browning. Barrel finishes are each at least 90 percent and the balance of the metal finish is over 95 percent. Wood is at least 90 percent. CASE: The included case (cracked lid) holds a number of accessories, all in high condition. The price is firm and layaway is available. $4,750 plus shipping.
