Description:
Serial #43C9271, .303 British, 25" barrel with an excellent, bright two-groove bore. This handsome Lend-Lease rifle has retained about 85-90%% of the original blue with the balance turned to a mellow plum-brown patina. There is some silvering at the muzzle, as well as along the exposed projections and high points, while the matching numbered bolt has a mottled gray body with fading and some plum-brown freckling on the handle. A two aperture rear battle sight is fitted, and there is an import mark on the underside of the barrel at the muzzle. The handguards and forend have an overall dark brown armory-added varnish with small handling marks and blemishes scattered throughout, while the buttstock has a very well done armory repair at the heel (with large "L" stamp on the top). A single "S (in box)" Savage-made magazine is included. This is a nice U.S.-made rifle and rates very good condition overall. FFL or C&R;
