Description:
A 52 cal.,same as U.S. Martial single shot pistols of mid-19th century, with a 9” octagon barrel, into eound with wedding band cuts ar the muzzle, with a lightly oxidized bore. The metal surfaces are all in-the-white, including the lock, with scattered oxidation blemishes, pitting, and handling marks. The sideplate and thimbles are brass and are a dark ochre. The smooth black walnut 19th Century, one piece pistolgrip stock rates very good with light handling marks. The lock has some later added ad-hoc engraving and the cock is loose but seems to function mechanically. The tang is cracked at the tang screw hole. It includes a simple wood ramrod. Meral may have been ccleaned ong ago as parts in the 19th century were issued in the whote and bluing was done to revolver of a later time.
