Offered here is a superb example of East German gunmaking excellence: a Simson over/under shotgun in 12 gauge, manufactured in Suhl and equivalent to the highly regarded Merkel Model 201. This shotgun represents the continuation of Suhl's centuries-old tradition of fine gunmaking under the Simson name during the post-war period.

This shotgun is in outstanding condition, showing minimal handling and careful storage throughout its life. Both metal and wood finishes retain virtually all of their original surface, with only the lightest evidence of use. The action is tight and functions exactly as it should. Ejectors fire crisply on both barrels. The mirror bores indicate this gun has seen very light use and has been meticulously maintained. No pitting, frosting, or wear visible in the barrels.
