Brief Company History:
The Manhattan Arms Company was a significant player in the firearms industry during the mid-19th century. Founded in 1856, it was based in Newark, New Jersey. The company quickly gained prominence for its innovative designs and quality craftsmanship, particularly in the realm of revolvers and pistols.
Manhattan Arms Co. was a direct competitor to other renowned firearm manufacturers of the time, including Colt, Remington, and Smith & Wesson. Their firearms were highly regarded for their reliability and effectiveness, earning them popularity among both civilian and military markets.

Condition:  Nice overall bore with a light oxidation and minor pitting from black powder use.   Barrel and cylinder retain traces of the original blue with light oxidation speckling and remainder turning to a gun-metal gray patina.  The cylinder engraving scene is very faint. The frame is mostly a ocher patina with light handling marks.  The smooth walnut grips are in very fine condition retaining most of the original varnish showing some light handling marks with solid fit to frame.   The barrel markings are clear and legible.  The German silver front sight blade remains intact. The barrel to frame fit has just a slight bit of play.  . The action is functional with very strong hammer spring, good timing and  lock-up.

Due to their historical significance, limited production numbers,, Manhattan Arms Co. pistols are highly sought after by collectors of antique firearms. This pistol  represents a rare and historically significant firearm. Its innovative design and limited production make it a prized collectible for enthusiasts of antique firearms.
This is a very rare,  hard to find Manhattan Revolver.   Very attractive with a beautiful antique appearance.  A really nice example for any antique arms collector.  Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of history.
