Description:
The Browning B26 was the gun that replaced the Superposed in the late 70's. It was less expensive than the superposed as it had less embellishment in the engraving on the receiver and in the wood, but still maintained the solid action of the superposed and it was still handmade in Belgium. It had a very short run life before Browning changed to making the Citori in Japan as their main O/U shotgun offering. This gun has 28 inch fixed choke barrels that are mod/full that are chrome lined and safe for steel shot and is chambered for 2 3/4 shells. The barrels are also selectable for first shot preference. While these guns did not become highly collectible because of their field grade only finish and non-interchangeable choke barrels, they are still very rare and are very high quality guns that were still "expensive " for their day. They can be Gun Smithed to have the barrels converted to mobile chokes. This one is in very good condition with no rust and the normal patina for a hunting gun this old. It functions flawlessly. It was my fathers "upland bird gun".
