Parker is most recognized, most desired of all the major makers from the heyday of the American side by side.  Parker made about 250,000 guns, the vast majority were 12ga. guns in lower grades.  American gunners today realize the fine shooting qualities these guns possess, as they were all hand assembled and tuned by the best gunmakers in the country.  Of course, they made far fewer Parkers in 16ga. and fewer yet in the higher grades that were beautifully adorned with figured European walnut and finely executed engraving entirely done the old school way…by hand!  This fine Parker CHE (Grade 4) 16ga., sn123374 made in 1904, is a very rare, collectible Parker that is a superb shooting tool ready for another 120 years in the field with proper care.  “RARE” is overused in the vintage gun world but this gun surely qualifies.  They only made 168 total hammerless CHE’s in 16ga., 149 with fluid steel barrels, and according to “The Parker Story” none were made in 28” Titanic Steel barrels, but as you can see, this gun was built to order for Foster Swift & Co. Of Grand Rapids, Michigan, in this exact specification – the gun matches the letter, and the letter trumps the book.  The chambers are 2 1/2″ but can be extended for the new owner, please call to discuss. This fine Parker is beautifully engraved with Grade 4 CHE game scenes and scroll.  The mechanics are excellent, with the barrels tight on face, top lever Way right of centered, ribs tight, bores are bright and shiny with no pits, ejectors are well timed, auto safety works as it should, and the triggers are crisp. At Vintage Firearms we inspect each gun before purchase (we NEVER buy a lemon), and on this gun we stripped the action to the smallest parts, Ultrasonic clean and scrub all parts to shiny metal, inspect all parts for integrity and function,  lubricated and reassemble, making this a VFI CERTIFIED GUNS, a $325 service in our shop.  VFI CERTIFIED GUNS have a 90-day mechanical warranty.   This gun comes with a Parker Gun Collectors Association letter documenting the gun and its details.  Parkers are considered investment quality guns that literally go up in value as you enjoy their use.  When you combine the rarity factor, condition, and highly desirable features, this gun is a strong investment quality firearm for you to enjoy.
