Description:
Saginaw M1 Carbine in 30 carbine. The top of the receiver is marked "U.S. CARBINE / CAL. 30 M1" on the front and "SAGINAW S.G. / 5836957" on the rear. The top of the barrel is marked "SAGINAW S.G. DIV. / GENERAL MOTORS". The right rear of the trigger group is stamped "SG" and does not have the 5/6 hole opposite the mag catch. The unmarked type 3 hammer. The short smooth magazine release "type II" is marked "SG" on the front which is Saginaw. The smooth push button safety is marked "E-S'G" which is Saginaw. The outside of the operating slide is marked "SG" for Saginaw. The flat bolt is marked "SG" which is a Saginaw mark. The front sight is unmarked and is a post set between two protective wings. The aperture rear sight is an early flip type. The Type 1 barrel band with the updated wider 5/16" is unmarked. The inside of the two rivet upper handguard is marked "RSG" which is a Saginaw mark. The rear right of the stock is marked "SG". There is an "RSG" stamped twice in the sling well with an "X" and "D". The 15 round magazine is marked "ss" which is made by Seymour Smith for Standard Products. Comes with an unmarked sling with an "IW" marked oiler (Winchester). .30 Carbine
