Description:
Offered here is a mid-19th century TERROR-marked pocket percussion revolver, a classic example of the small personal defense handguns produced during the 1860-1875 era. These compact revolvers were sold across the American market as affordable, easily carried protection for travelers, merchants, and citizens during a time when personal arms were widely relied upon.

This example features the distinctive “TERROR” stamp on the topstrap, a hallmark of this scarce private label pattern. The revolver is built around a 5 shot percussion cylinder (approx. .31 caliber), spur trigger, solid frame construction, and original dark walnut grips. Metal surfaces show an honest antique patina appropriate for its age, with no aggressive pitting. The grips remain smooth and intact with no visible cracks.

These pocket revolvers were often referred to as 'suicide specials' by collectors—simple, reliable, and widely used in the post–Civil War era. The TERROR?marked variants are less common and are desirable among early American pocket?revolver collectors.

• Make/Model: TERROR Pocket Percussion Revolver
• Caliber: Approx. .31 percussion
• Action: Single action percussion revolver
• Capacity: 5-shot cylinder
• Era: Circa 1860-1875
• Grips: Original walnut
• Condition: Antique patina with functional wear

A solid example of an increasingly scarce and collectible 19th?century American pocket revolver. Ready for any antique handgun collection.
