Description:
The 40th catalog of H.H. Heiser states this case, straps, handle, and shoulder strap of this roll gun case are made of No. 1 selection oak tanned russet leather. Pockets are soft chrome leather. Case is made large enough to carry other articles, such as shooting jacket, rubbers, etc. Made for any gun.
My pictures and the pictures in the catalog show the case is made to carry longer items than the pocket. They are protected by the end flaps. Although I show multiple 28" barrels in the pockets for demonstration purposes, I would probably not carry more than one barrel at a time in the case. I have used it for carrying an extra barrel to the range along with cleaning rods.
The case is in great condition with the exception it is missing the female end (buckle end) on the inner closure strap. Although the case functions without it, you could have another made and sewn. If you like, I could have my saddle maker fashion a new strap at extra cost. A previous owner have put their name on one of the out flaps.
I have seen very few of these and fewer offered for sale. As I collect leather sporting items, it was a must have for my collection, which I am down-sizing. Great display piece for the gun room!
This case would be excellent for your Parker, Fox, L.C. Smith, Lefever, Ithaca vintage shotgun.
