Early production rifle in the most popular FWT caliber of late, the venerable and readily available .308 Winchester.
S/N 256733 with matching bolt made in 1953.
All original gun in excellent overall shape with the metal components showing 97%, and the wood at about 95% with some scattered handling marks.
There are no cracks or other notable distractions and the barrel channel looks like new with no alterations.
Correct features of this early gun include the solid bolt knob and Marble folding rear sight.
The 22" slim profile barrel and the aluminum floorplate, trigger guard, and buttplate (for weight reduction) all remain in fine shape.
An excellent bore and flawless mechanical functions, combined with its unaltered condition, make this the perfect shooter that you can use with pride and care, while still retaining its inherent value and collectibility.
