Description:
CLASSIC EARLY 1894 SADDLE RING CARBINE, .30WCF, #275XXX, MADE 1905. A fine example retaining fine blue on the receiver with only some light thinning on the side panels and edges. The bolt retains fine deep blue. Saddle ring intact, exc. screw heads. About all the deep blue on the barrel and mag tube. Exc. sharp markings. Retains the carbine ladder rear sight with slide intact. Exc. stock and forearm show light handling only with tight wood to metal fit. Tight action, strong hammer spring and solid safety half-cock with exc. sharp bore. On each side of the stock about an inch in from the sides of the butt plate are the block letters “R A B” which appear to have been embossed with a single stamp (instead of three separate letter stamps) as the letters are in a straight line with a little more space between the “R” and the other two letters. Looks more “institutional” than just someone putting their initials in the stock. Either way, just part of the history in this fine condition nearly 121 year old Saddle Ring Carbine.
