Description:
A Civil War U.S. Military Issued Colt Percussion Model 1851 Navy Revolver With Its Original Holster In Nice Untouched Condition. Serial #77,904, all matching numbers. Made in 1857. All original & complete. The revolver has nice metal, clear markings, and crisp edges. It is fully "U.S. Sub Inspected' on all parts. It is marked on the frame "COLTS/PATENT/U.S." The markings on top of the barrel read, "ADDRESS SAML COLT HARTFORD CT." It has a full naval cylinder scene on it which has a couple of spots showing light wear. The barrel & cylinder both have an untouched natural darkening patina on them. The frame, loading lever, and hammer are all untouched with a dark plum patina mixing with original case colors which are also darkening. All screws are fine throughout. The brass backstrap & trigger guard are very good with an untouched patina and a couple of small spots of light peppering on them. The original grips are very good throughout with a tiny period chip out of one corner on the bottom edge. The grips have a visible "U.S. Inspectors Cartouche" on both sides. The revolver has a tight action and very good bore in it.
The Civil War U.S. 1851 Navy Revolver Comes with an all original Civil War Model 1851 Colt Navy Leather Holster that is in fine untouched condition throughout. It has its original flap, closing tab, and bottom plug with tight stitching throughout. This Is A Very Nice Example Of A Civil War U.S. Military Issued Colt Percussion Model 1851 Navy Revolver With Its Original Holster That Would Be A Fine Addition To Any Collection!
