Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are so proud to offer this seldom seen version of Colt's first pump rifle, the medium frame Lightning. Made in the year of our Lord 1885, she looks great for being 140 years old. What appears to be the original blue has drifted to patina, but is fairly even and strong. The highly figured and checkered walnut looks great, and the telltale prancing Colt can still be found on the receiver. The stampings are sharp and clear, and the bore of the 26 inch barrel has plenty of shine and strong rifling. The action is smooth and tight, and works as designed. Chambered in 32-20, Colt touted these rifles as companions for their revolvers chambered in the same caliber. The medium frame guns were the first to arrive on the market, and a total of just under 90 thousand were produced. Of these, a scant few were made in deluxe form, with high grade walnut and a pistol grip. This is only the second we have offered in many years, and a good example for the advanced Colt collector. If you have been looking for the right Colt Lightning rifle to collect, or for investment, but want the added clout of a rare deluxe version, then look no further.
