Description:
Serial #2189770, .30 Carbine, 18" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a good looking carbine that has a "STD. PRO."-marked receiver which is mated to a (6 or 8)-44 dated, "UNDERWOOD" marked barrel. Parts from various WW2 manufacturers are fitted: "S (in circle)" slide; round "IO" bolt; "SG" recoil plate; and "IH" hammer, with none of the other maker markings still legible. The metal retains 75-80% of an old parkerized finish, that has started to turn plum-brown throughout, as well as having silvering along the high and exposed edges, and on the bearing surfaces of the bolt and raceway. The carbine is outfitted with a high quality unmarked commercial walnut stock and two-rivet handguard set that has only some trace handling marks marring the otherwise excellent original finish. A single "U-S’G’" marked wartime magazine is included, and a "D-Tip" post-war olive drab canvas sling is fitted. This is a great looking M1 Carbine, and is in about very good condition overall.
