An Early And Desirable U.S. Civil War U.S. Military Issued Model 1861 Springfield Musket Dated 1862 In Excellent Original Condition. All original and complete. The Early Musket has excellent metal and crisp markings throughout with sharp edges. Marked on the lock, "WITH AN EAGLE/U.S. SPRINGFIELD" in front of the lock, and dated, "1862" at the rear. The barrel is also dated "1862" & is marked with a "VP & EAGLE" on the side. The barrel and all the rest of the metal on the musket are excellent throughout with sharp edges and are all in the bright. All of the wood on the musket is excellent plus throughout with crisp edges and a wonderful grain and color to it. It has excellent U.S. Inspectors Cartouches on the backside of the wood opposite the lock. The musket has an excellent bright bore and action in it. This is A Very High Condition Example Of An Early U.S. Civil War U.S. Military Issued Model 1861 Springfield Musket Dated 1862 That Would Be A Great Addition To Any Fine Collection!
