Description:
An Early 1800's Vermont Fully Carved Powder Horn Given To The Owners Son, "S.O. WELLS" In "1876" In Fine Untouched Condition. All original throughout with an early 1800's tool tied to it. The ornate carved horn measures 15 inches in length and is completely untouched with a wonderful color to it. It has carved on it "An American Flag With The Vermont State Tree On It", "The State Seal Of Vermont", "Uncle Sam", "A Very Large Building Or Home" with an unusual flag flying above it with the initials "JE' on it. On the bottom of the horn in a totally different hand is carved "S.O. WELLS, 1876" This was definitely added on later on, most likely a son of the original owner. There is also a row of musical notes that goes around the horn. This Horn Is A Wonderful Piece Of Americana That Deserves To Be Researched Further As It Just Came Out Of A Very Old Estate!
