This Smith & Wesson 38-2 Airweight is commonly known as the Bodyguard Airweight, is a compact, five-shot revolver introduced in 1962 and chambered in .38 Smith & Wesson Special. Built on the aluminum -alloy J-frame with a shrouded hammer design, it allows both double-action firing and safe cocked single-action use while minimizing the risk of snagging during concealed carry. The 2" barrel, fixed sights and lightweight construction make it a classic choice for backup or primary concealed-carry roles among law enforcement and civilians during the 1960s and 1970s. The 38-2 combines reliability, discreet profile, and the proven stopping power of the .38 Special cartridge in a highly portable package.
