Description:
Serial #45641, 12 Ga. (2 1/2"), 30" barrel with a fair bore that has light freckling along the entire length. This is an 1892-made shotgun that has some traces of the original blue remaining on protected areas of the barrel and magazine tube, with the balance having a mottled plum-brown and gray patina with small areas of pinprick pitting interspersed throughout.. The frame and lever have an overall plum-brown patina with some noticeable impact marks around the ends of the lever pin on either side. The walnut stock and forend panels have numerous handling marks and blemishes throughout, with a small piece of wood missing from the tip of the right side panel. There is some freckling and pitting around the edge of the checkered steel buttplate. The mechanics are tight and the gun functions well. This is a good Winchester 1887 overall, with a great "Wild West" appearance. Antique;
