Paterson shoulder arms are scarce to begin with, and many advanced Colt collections do not include an example. The full octagon barrel configuration is especially difficult to find, as most surviving Paterson long arms are encountered with round or partially octagon barrels. The barrel is marked “Patent Arms Mfg. Co. Paterson, N.J. – Colt’s Pt.” with correct period lettering and layout. The rifle presents evenly overall and remains in its original configuration. The walnut stock shows normal age and handling wear and appears solid. The serial number 620 is marked on the rotating portion of the cylinder pin, The action mechanically functions, indexes with four clicks, and locks up, though with some looseness, which is not uncommon for early Colt percussion arms. A scarce early Colt shoulder arm offered at and an opportunity to add a hard-to-find Colt to a serious collection. $18,500 OBO Antique firearm. No FFL required.
