Description:
Between every variation, the pocket models were the most popular revolvers sold by colt well into the 20th century. This example is of is of a 31 Caliber model of 1849, sometimes erroneously referred to as a "Wells Fargo" model due to the lack of a loading lever, despite the fact that Wells Fargo shows no purchase of 31 caliber revolvers in their records. Overall condition is good to very good despite being made before the U.S. Civil War, with the worst of the wear being inside the bore due to black powder corrosion. The majority of the external finish has faded to a pleasant brown patina, with scattered spots of superficial corrosion and amazingly, the stage coach scene has been kept very crisp and defined.
