LOP 13" Serial Number: 160505 The Winchester Model 1894 was first chambered in the .38-55 WCF, a powerful, medium bore cartridge that is still the preferred cartridge in vintage Model 1984 rifles today. This example serial number 160505 was manufactured in 1899 (its already straddled three centuries!), features a rifle configuration, full length mag tube, a 26” barrel and corresponding crescent rifle buttplate. The barrel retains 70% factory bluing fading with age and a shiny bore with rifling throughout and rates 6/10 and is chambered in the enduring big bore caliber of .38-55 Winchester. Modern .38-55 ammunition is readily available with nitro powders developing safe black powder pressures that this rifle was designed for. Overall, a righteous gun with 40% factory case color remaining on the lever, 70% receiver condition, and excellent screws. This Winchester Model 1894 is perfect for deer, wild pig and small bear hunting throughout the country and anywhere a true rifle is warranted.
